Happy Halloween from us to you!!!
We had a great Halloween. My husband was, of course, underway due to Tyhpoon Chaba (which was NOTHING...), so it was just the kids and I this year. We tagged along with my friend Sarah and her family, so all the kids got to go trick-or-treating together. We had a very good time and luckily we beat all the crowds, at least on the area of base we were in. Any Japanese person who works on the base is allowed to bring up to 6 guests on for Halloween, so imagine how many people were out.
The kids made out like bandits...although Dylan kept tossing his candy out of his basket. Honestly, they had more fun handing candy out to the other kids. In fact, the Japanese got such a kick out of Dylan. We'd open the door, he'd say "HI!" and hand them candy, then do a little dance for them. Some even took pictures. And might I add, the Japanese trick-or-treaters were extremely nice and very respectful. Go figure huh? I'd open the door, they'd bow and say "Trick-or-treat." Then they'd bow again and say "Thank you very much." Where as the American kids bombarded the door, grabbed from the bowl and shouted "Thanks" as they ran to the next door.
All in all, it was a good night. The kids had a great time and they went right to sleep, thankfully.
